About Osseo Area Learning Center

Osseo Area Learning Center (OALC) is an alternative public high school in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, serving students in grades 9–12 within Osseo Area Schools. Designed for students who benefit from a smaller, more personalized learning environment, OALC provides flexible pathways, credit recovery options and individualized support to help students stay on track toward graduation and future success.

A supportive, alternative high school setting

OALC provides a structured environment with flexible scheduling, credit recovery options and individualized academic support. Students receive clear expectations, consistent communication and the opportunity to rebuild confidence while working toward graduation.

OALC is a seat-based program. Students may be referred through their Osseo Area Schools' high school counseling office or families may request consideration through an application process.

At OALC, students are known by name and supported by dedicated staff who prioritize relationships and consistent communication. Smaller class sizes allow teachers to provide personalized instruction and meaningful feedback.

Incoming students also participate in a three-week Skills for Success course designed to help them transition smoothly into the OALC environment and develop strong academic habits.

OALC provides academic and personal support services that help students overcome barriers and focus on graduation.

Support services include:

  • Clothing closet and food pantry

  • Skills for Successful Living course

  • Academic support in a small-group setting
